Troubled Children

I got up this morning and saw a very disturbing CNN report. A child of 14 arrested for having guns in which his mother bought for him. Why did she not buy him a piano or guitar. I am a baby boomer and it is our fault for not putting our children in music or the performing arts. What is wrong with a small majority of you parents? I know that most of you are good parents but all it takes is a few to kill your child. What do you think needs to happen to this mother?
It comes down to the basics at home is where the children get these problems, bigotry, hate, cheating and lying. What is wrong with you?
I think there should be a mandatory class on behavioral management or music classes to allow the children to release their emotions. What do you think?

A young couple in dier strates.

A young couple goes to the Los Angel es County Fair. Comes up to a booth that is selling pianos and the young man sits down and plays the piano very well. He tells the salesperson that they are married and they just bought a house. They could not really afford it but the salesperson offers them a deal that they can not refuse. Salesperson says to them do you have a hundred dollars? They said yes why, well you can put down the hundred and make $25.00 payments until your money comes in . So they signed the contract and they went off happy and they knew they could handle that agreement. They were planning for their unborne child to be able to play this instrument and the father could teach him or her to play. Well the music store gets a call from the father of the gentleman and tells them that his son is only 17 and not married and that his son stoled the hundred out of his wallet. The father calls the sales person and tells him the story and he said if my son would have just came home and talked to me I could have worked these terms out. But he did not and I said that he just could not reward his son this piano by not doing the right thing. Well maybe the father will realize that his son was just telling him that he needed music.
What would your son or daughter do?

To CNN

To : Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Matthew McConaughey, Pres. William J. Clinton and all the other celebrities in the world and Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.

My name is Dave Henson with IFEPA. I saw a remarkable show on music and children that have cancer on the cable channel. Music gave them a will to live and a drive to get well. Doesn’t that tell you something? The idea that children growing up with out music and the lack of culture in their lives just gets me HOT so get started with your children.

Parents why are children getting in trouble? How can you sleep and watch your children go on without music and being able to play. I have sold pianos for 40 years and the main statement that the parents say is I wish my parents would have pushed me. Please do not be that parent and let your children experience the love of music in their lives get on the band wagon and HELP www.ifepa.org

Thanks

To all the celebriries

Save our children

Dear Adults

The children of today are your investment in the future. They need to see their own futures, and as long as they have music in their lives, they have a place to go for comfort, enjoyment, and even to release tension or frustration. The qualities of their home and school lives are the only standards they have to imagine or to picture their own futures. We can help them finish school and achieve their goals. Music has been proven to be a stimulant for students to do better in school. Parents who introduce music into their lives do not have as many problems as ones without music.

If you do not have children, we’re still writing to you, too. Children surround us every day of our lives, and all of us want a safe environment for them and for us. One way to achieve that is to add music programs for children, in school and after-school. These programs help children stay out of trouble give them balance in sports, science, and creative efforts, teach them how to focus on class activities, and on their homework.

Please visit our website, (www.ifepa.org) you will find a “Donate” page where you can contribute once a month for as low as $10 to help bring music into children’s lives all over the world. Our children are starving for culture and purpose in their lives, and it’s up to us as parents to fulfill their needs.

We appreciate all you do for our Foundation.

Sincerely,

David Henson

IFEPA in action!
Watch this brief introductory video where the late Ray Charles and other artists show the important role that IFEPA patrons and programs can play in American music education.

patronsforprodigies

Through this program, we establish a lifelong relationship between patron and prodigy. Patrons receive regular updates on each student's progress through e-newsletters that include
links to audio and video recordings of recitals and premier performances. When and where possible, patrons are also invited to attend performances in person.

The reality is that even after receiving their letters of acceptance, the vast majority of talented US teenagers struggle to afford full-time study without some addition private assistance. Tragically, continuing their education is an opportunity that many can not afford accept.

It is our vision that over the years the Patrons for Prodigies fund will grow large enough to ensure that America's brightest stars are not dimmed by dwindling public resources.

FOR NOW

"In renewing the plans for the school year, we thought it appropriate to write you and officially congratulate and thank IFEPA for the high quality and meaningful continuation of the Music4Kidz programs. The artists and programs provided to our participating schools were outstanding. IFEPA is providing a valuable service in providing high-quality arts programming for the students."

"Each year I am more impressed with what you and Music4Kidz contribute to schools. On behalf of my students and staff, a most sincere thanks and appreciation for including us in the Music4Kidz program. It is a very real opportunity to expose a large number of students to the masters in music."

Pianos for a purpose

• If you have a friend that is looking to buy a piano, let them know about our web site and then call us at (213) 291-1787 to give them a list of new and used pianos available for sale at bargain prices. I am retired after having 40 years of experience selling pianos and very willing to help them select the right one. Buying an instrument can provide their family with a lifetime of education and enjoyment. IFEPA invites you to visit us to discuss your needs.

n additional to financial support, your donation of an unneeded instrument is one of the greatest contributions you can make. Many talented teens can not afford or do not have access to practice pianos and other instruments necessary to develop their skills. If you are a student in need of an instrument, please fill out our online request form, and a volunteer will work to connect you with a donor.
